Planting lettuce is very common in temperate climate. In tropical climate, it is confined to the highlands. However some lettuces such as Romaine Lettuce can grow well in tropical lowland if they were grown in hydroponics and provided with partial shading during midday.
I have planted some Romaine Lettuce in two types of hydroponic system, the Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) and Deep Water Culture (DWC).
